This gallery contains pictures and photos of Israeli wildflowers,
flowers that grow wild, meaning not intentionally seeded or planted.
In Israel there are at least four different geographical zones:
- the Golan Heights (region 1),
- Galilee (region 2),
- the Central-Southern area (region 3),
- Arava Valley (region 4)
with a climate-range from semi-arid to subtropical.
The landscape of flowers and plants changes abruptly with its different geographical regions.
Therefore there grow some 2800 types of plants in the country.
Israel is one of the most attractive sites in the Middle East for its richness in biodiversity.
Israel: "A land of wheat and barley and vines and fig-trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey" (Deuteronomy 8:8).
